Well, first of all, sorry this is late (I usually update on Tuesdays, as most of you know).

Second: There's a reason. I have the story arc idea to follow the Bowling one, but getting started proved to be a real challenge for some reason. I sketched out several rough ideas for it, and as usual ended up not using any of them! (haa!)

I came up with this. Initially I was gonna skip the actual date. Then I thought, maybe it'd be cool to show them on their date, at least for one strip. Well, I like the end result actually…not as off-the-wall and zany as a normal Ants strip, but kinda sweet (awwwwwwww)…

Yeah I get sappy now and then.

But we need to get to know Iris, and I need to start developing her character more.

The way she talks was just an accident, really. She sounds like a southerner, so I decided she was from Texas. I just sort of imagined her being sort of a feisty Texas gal, kind of like Sandy on Spongebob (haha)…I dunno why this happened, it just sort of did. Characters take on a life of their own sometimes.

So anyhow–enough rambling. Sorry of you were looking for a big laugh today…I just wanted to switch gears for a bit. :o)
