Circa. 1917
Surrealism.

One of Miró earlier works, it can only loosely fit into the category of surrealism. One of the main reasons that Miró's art is difficult to categorize is because his style would change quite often. Miró despised most art throughout history because he felt that most art only served to celebrate the lives of the rich and those in power. Because of this, his style would constantly change throughout his life in in order to keep from appealing to the popular taste at the time.
