Me agree with Rush Limbagh? No Wai!

The VT tragedy hit a lot of folks hard. It's a tragedy. Senseless in all ways. There are many who are using it to further their adgenda. Jack Thompson for one.

Wacko Jacko, as he is called by some, has already blamed the shooting on video games. I, for one, wasn't suprised he did. Though the speed did catch me a LITTLE off guard. But he's on Fox News, already saying how video games trained him to be able to kill 33 people in a building.

Now, I'm not a doctor. I'm not a lawyer. I'm not really much of anything sides a guy who runs an arcade. So, I GUESS that would put me a LITTLE bit of an authority on video games. Now, I have yet to see video games really “train” anyone to kill. I mean, compare the gun of Time Crisis 3, to a REAL gun. You CAN'T compare the kick. Hell I own an AIRGUN and the Time Crisis guns can't compare to THAT kick, so I can't imagine how shooting a REAL gun would be.

But back to point, Rush Limbagh had a caller on his show, saying that he's fairly sure the guy who did the shooting was a gamer. And that was the cause. Now Rush surprised me. He told the caller, that yes the kid could be a gammer, but there's more to it than just games.

Here, lemme quote the article from Joysiq

“not every video gamer goes out and murders 33 people on the college campus though. There's more to this than that.” Limbaugh granted that playing games “may desensitize people, but it doesn't turn everybody into mass murderers.”

That's something you don't hear from media folks on the issue of video games. A very balanced look at games. And I actually agree with him on this, which is VERY rare for me and Rush. But yeah me agreeing with Rush.. sometimes it's just not right, but this time, it is.
