I started out writing the script using a free on-line service, but half way through I discovered a download-able one called CELTX. Its not perfect but easy to use and has some great features (among them being free software). You can turn your finished script into pdf format as well. I'm even using it to create a script of the final film version of Plan 9 From Outer Space, a classic Sci-Fi turkey! Other people have transcribed the dialog for Plan 9, but none that I can find in shooting script format.

As mentioned, Script Frenzy month is May. There is an official website. You have to write a 100 page script in a month. There are no prizes; its a personal challenge. The cool thing is that there are thousands of other people doing it at the same time. You can make friends and watch their progress, talk about your script or script writing in general, and read articles from professionals during the month. Like drunkduck, for most people its a hobby.
