Speakeasy - p01
DAJB on Dec. 31, 2007
Several years ago, I wrote a script for a 5-page horror story called Speakeasy. Originally it was for an anthology which, in the end, never proceeded. Just recently the script was picked up by the excellent artist Wes Huffor for inclusion in his anthology Charnel House.
This is Wes's stunning first page for Speakeasy which just goes to show … you should never give up on old projects, no matter how long they've been stalled!
Reminder: If you're enjoying the BVC Scrap Book, don't forget to look in on our main comic Shades.

Yup - it is very noirish! When I sat down to write a horror story, I tried to put together a proper back-story for the characters. By the time I'd finished, it was nine-tenths Edward G. Robinson and barely one-tenth Vincent price!

Sounds nice and hard-boiled and noir-ish :) And indeed, great artwork. The lighting is gorgeous.
