Character sketches - NPW
DAJB on Jan. 31, 2008
These are some rough character sketches I did for a comic strip about a group of friends.
I never did anything with it but, just to let you know what the world has missed, let me introduce you properly:
Suze - the (relatively) normal girl of the group, through whose eyes we could see the actions of the others.
Stik - guess what? Yup - she was the group's diet-obsessed fashion victim.
L33t - you don't really need me to explain this one, do you?!
Asbo - the group's resident dim-witted thug (see note below).
Note: For the benefit of non-UK readers, an ASBO is an “anti-social behaviour order” which the Courts can impose on people for, well … anti-social behaviour. They were originally introduced as a measure designed to curb the activities of young thugs although - if the newspapers are to be believed - they more often seem to be handed out to old-age pensioners for being old and cantankerous!

Hmmm - hadn't thought about animation! At the time, I was thinking of making a 3-panel daily gag-strip with one or more of these characters commenting on one of the big news stories each day. (In the end, I decided a daily anything was probably going to be too much work to keep up with!)

These chaps don't look too friendly. I could envision an animated series built around them though.
