Here and I thought the giant pile of dirt and debris on the Northwest highway was from road construction. Now I know the truth... no wonder no one in Manhattan has sent me a telegram this month.
I'd hardly consider Barrington to be a "small ...town", seeing how it's a suburb of Chicago. But I guess that this means that LA will be the largest city in the Dan-verse.
That's kind a weird compliant given how every character in BGH routinely get their asses kicked.
Well anyway, I'd recommend you stick around until at least the end of this arc, but given how slowly I update that might be too much of an investment.
But let me put it this way: in all of the times Doctor Doom has stolen amazing cosmic powers...how many times has he actually KEPT those powers?
no, not the power levels, its much more complicated than that. Perhaps this link will shed some light on the subject. I really cannot explain it better than that and I hate to break it to you Dan but as a devoted fan of BGH I feel I must.
I forget where the pretty guardian (not girl) sailor moon reference I read came from about her and sailor Venus getting too powerful (it was a Japanese show) but it's somewhere out there, but that is one reason I quit the original idea of Aden (my "chip-fox" character) as I was writing books about him, he became an overpowered, and truly undefeatable male Mary Sue, who could do no wrong, and I would not hear of anything against him. Sure he is tame now, but you should see my old books...no, wait, you won't see them, no one will, they're that terrible.
But to be a really likable character they must be human, make mistakes, can be really defeated, and appear to have have true emotions, not just be "emo." By emo, I mean highly emotional to the point of being ridiculous. (Sailor Moon was often too emotional, ranging from bawling her eyes out to being so mad as to be unrealistic.)
I realize that I will probably be shouted down immediately but honestly, that is my opinion.
@Klytus: The Hal thing's been retconned like a bajillion times, I'm just going off the revelation that was presented at the time, which comparatively is what you're seeing in BGH now.
@Xade: Sorry to lose you, but I have no idea what you're talking about anyway. You're upset by the character's power-levels? Seriously?
hmm no glasses, but it seems to me bgh is going to lose my interest, I'm sorry TRD but they seem to be developing into super powered mary sues. This was also the problem with pretty girl sailor moon, 2 characters got so powerful that they could not end it without destroying the world. and if the world is destroyed there is no story.
The title makes sense now. I still have the issue in which Hal becomes Parralax. In there the writers mention they decided to do that becasue Hal did not have any serious character development prior to going nuts.
Actually, when Hal absorbed the power battery, the Green Lantern Corp was just being rebuilt, so the only GLs he killed were the ones that tried to stop him from getting to Oa. What sent his bodycount over-the-top was destroying The Universe (Zero Hour) so he could rebuild it and "make things right".
"More than Hal, Less than Jean".
As Parallax Hal supposedly killed all the Green Lanterns that were in space at the time he absorbed the central power battery, which I'm pretty sure is only in the upper thousands. Meanwhile: Jean Grey destroyed a sun as the Dark Phoenix, which killed 6 billion people.
Both characters where eventually exonerated through the power of the retcon.
perhaps he should have brought the moon back to the earth, much more destructive than australia, and he probably would be killing 20M a day instead of all in one pop.

What is the full title of this issue all I can read is "More than Hal, less than " a refernce to Hal Jordan as the insane Parralax.
