I have to wonder if our SuperDan really has or will have a damned soul by the time it's over. It is possible to redeem yourself, even your soul, and Dan seems to want that, even though he screws up a lot.

Is it just me, or is Paradox sounding a lot like the Super Dan from Superpower Girl's future? Maybe since he's changing to match Dan's future, he's becoming more like the good future Super Dan?

But, is Superdan's heart really hard? Paradox hardened because he was betrayed by his best friend and never had the chance to reconcile. Superdan has been in contact with Evan since coming back and the two have begun repairing their friendship. I think that's a significant difference.

The problem is that futuredan seems to think that his future is the only "right" choice. You would think that, because he believes that doing the right thing is always hard, that he would have fought against whatever hell has in store for the world. That seems to be a lot harder to stop than taking over and become a truly irredeemable waste of life.

Well, he's partly right - sometimes you have to play the villain to have others become heroes. But the path that he's suggesting is too extreme. he'd destroy the earth before he saves it, with all those super-powered people around.
