BGH#500 Bring On The Bad Guys

What did you expect from a comic called “Bad Guy High”?
This page is really more of an epilogue, projecting the paths these characters and this world will go on into the future. I apologize if anyone here feels this is a kind of “cliffhanger”, because that’s not really the truth of it. The truth is that this is a comic called “Bad Guy High”, it’s always been about the bad guys, and in that story…the bad guys win.
Though there are obviously threads here that hopefully I’ll pick up again in another webcomic, but for now I make no promises. If I ever do another comic, it’s not going to happen tomorrow. Buuuuut the exception to that is Crossoverkill. Which hopefully you’ve been reading. If you notice SuperpowerGirl has taken on a new costume for this final page, thanks to SuperDan’s pep-talk. She wore this costume in the early pages of Crossoverkill. Which should tell you that Crossoverkill takes place AFTER the events of Bad Guy High . If you’re dying to know what happens to the world of Bad Guy High, it might be a good idea to follow Captain Perfect’s adventure against the Doppleganger Gang.
I also want to say that I WILL be putting up a few “afterward” updates on THIS comic site, just to explain a few things and put in some last words. No actual new comic “pages”, but just my explanations and musings; revealing some of the behind the scenes secrets of BGH. So look forward to that, and don’t take BGH out of your bookmarks just yet.
And now for the gooshy stuff….
This is the end of the 7+ year journey I started in my senior year of high school, along with my friend the very REAL Evan. Like many webcomics it began as an in-joke between friends, but went on to have a life of its very own and forge what is more or less a legitimate story. I’m very happy to have done this project for so long, and to have had it as a personal safety rail as I grew into adulthood. Bad Guy High was a practice that allowed me to develop as an artist, a way to express myself creatively, and at times even an outlet to air my more personal issues and cope with some of the harder periods of my young life. To have something like that, something that you made yourself and yet is miraculously appreciated by so many others at the same time is a tremendous gift. As silly as this little webcomic is, I don’t know where or who I’d be today without Bad Guy High.
So to the friends that inspired me, to the family that supported me, and to the fans that stuck by me: I thank you all.
As with every “100th” page, I now more than ever ask that those who don’t usually post in the comments please do, and share your thoughts on Bad Guy High.

Love the ending red Death, I've followed your comic for the past few year and have found it to be really enjoyable. Its sad to see it end but like all things it had to at some point. I wish you the best in your future venture what ever they may be. ALL HAIL RED DEATH CREATOR AND RULER OF THE BAD GUY HIGH MULTIVERSE.

Its been amazing seeing this from beginning to end and it has always been a highlight of my week when it updated. Who would of thought it would have come this far. I still remember the day when you brought the first page into gym class and I'm glad I could be part of this wonderful masterpiece, even just as a character reference. I look forward to all your future projects and will continue to enjoy your work. (i still have your Vash/Spike birthday comic and all the Ironman ones as well by the way). The one thing I'll miss about this comic is narcissistic fulfilment I got seeing myself a comic character. Nothing gold can stay though... -The Real Evan

it is a good ending to a good comic, though history won't call the 'heroes' heroes, instead they will be the villains, and the 'heroes' the villains. your art is really good, the story was pretty good too. i like the fun you have with the characters, like 'that man,' as being too serious in comic book stuff is a bit silly. the only thing i think you should work on is the emotional attachment you have with the comic (which is totally understandable, 7+ years is huge, and you should be attached to the comic, just not the internet half of you), as it seems you had problems when people saw certain characters as parodies, when they weren't, or when some people gave some lustful/derogatory comments about some girls. remember that the internet is vapor, and all that is in it is simply a figment, thus every internet fan you have is simply a faceless figment, though to be fair you are a faceless figment as well. that doesn't mean that what you do isn't meaningful, and that you haven't touched other people's lives through the internet, if that makes any sense. ultimately i'd say that with what i've seen you can easily get a job as an artist at a comic company, i hope you make another comic at some point that i can read.

June 24th...the day the Bad Guys finally win!!! Dan, this has been a wonderful adventure. (after 7+ years, to call it anything less would be wrongggg) The characters you've created are wonderful and you are super goddamn talented, buddy. I have truly enjoyed reading it over the years and will continue to enjoy everything you do in the future. But most importantly, I like the way your move. -Steve

Fittingly the best ending possible for this kind of series. Excellent series and thank you for working so long on it. ~Select

its been a great comic, with a fantastic ending. Thanks for the story of how evil finally triumphs! (though, I kind of wish we could see Evan do something evil, but oh well.) :)

Much better than the ending to Last Action Hero

Well, I certainly didn't expect that. Way to go with an original ending, man. Seems like you have a great future in comics if you keep this up. Good luck, ol' chap. P.S.: Oddly, I never fully took Evan as a real villain. But, if the diploma says so...

The next series is all about politics, and power struggles.

It was a fun ride. I remember laughing my ass off at the first pages to eventually paying attention to this comic with excitement. For 4 years this comic has stayed in my favorites list so it's sad to know that it's never gonna be updated again. Be looking forward to seeing more of your stuff.

So does Evan conquer the world? Or the Leminscate Society or whatever? Because if ALL the Bad Guys win, that's a lot of competition.... Beautiful ending.

Nicely done.

Would hate to think a comic like Bad Guy High would have the Good Guys winning. Been a good journey. Loved the humor and parodies just as much as the actual characters and the bad ass action. But most of all, got a chance to watch an artist evolve and improve both in artwork and in writing. So thank you for the ride and am looking forward to see the "afterwards" as well as whatever you decide to do next.
