And so we begin the tale of Towser. We looked into a lot of traditional Japanese architecture and cuisine for ideas on the smaller details on this page, particularly kaiseki-ryōri, a term encompassing both a multiple course meal and the special techniques associated with its preparation and serving. I'm personally very picky when it comes to food, both at home and abroad, but I try to make a point to at least sample the local menu when I'm overseas. Both Golden and I rank Italian and Japanese among our favourites, though she also swears by Tex-Mex, apparently. There are a few gems from home I probably couldn't live without (some of my American friends do like to comment on how unappetising we make a lot of our dishes sound, but don't be scared off!), and French pastries are to die for. Wow. I just made myself really hungry. What do you have to say on the matter of foreign foods?

I love studying foreign food. It seems like the closest way to understand a country without going there.

So this is the elusive dad. He looks like he lived quite a life. All fancy in that last panel. The way he spins tall tells makes me think of the dad in Big Fish. I look forward to your next posting!
