Panel 2:
BRUNO: Easter Island has always held a fascination for 19th and 20th century explorers. Not only because of the monuments found there, which were created by a Stone Age civilization, but also because the flora looked so very different from that on the other Polynesian islands. While lush tropical vegetation thrived there, the Easter Island looked similar to the Shetland Islands: grassland, rocks, rough winds, no brooks or rivers.

Panel 3:
BRUNO: Of course, the researchers tried to reconstruct the history of the Rapa Nui culture.
VILIS: I take it that no books with chronicles were found?
