My uncle was in the Vietnam War. The stories he told me when I was a kid were both exciting and tradgic. You could see the burden he carried on his face as he told his stories. Not everything he did in Vietnam was noble, there were times he felt horrible about the things he was ordered to do. Did you know that a lone tank can make short work of a village of about 200 people? My uncle doesn't pretend to think that what he did was right, but when you're a soldier, you're expected to follow orders… Regardless of wether you think the orders are moral or not. (I guess that's what I'm trying to portray here.)
Would anyone like to give the corporal a name. (It has to be Japanese or Chinese sounding.)
Responces:
Dragonzilla: That about sums it up.
Kali: ....
Ickus: My comic's characters tend to look alike. It's a problem I've been trying to fix.
Lord of the games: Kohi is the homocidal maniac who is giving the orders, I don't have a name for the corporal, (Who is a private in this flash back.) But the corporal is the one who is being forced to burn the hut with the wife and child inside. But other than names being mixed up, I understand what you're saying. (And I agree with ya.) But yes, that's Major Kohi who got his eye gouged and his ear bit by Kasumi.
Lord of the Games: Keep reading the story... You may find that there are some who will become "triators" later on in the story. As for Lamika... She's been heavly brainwashed to serve Advisor Toh, Lamika has what is called in professional circles, "Stockholm Syndrome". (Where a kidnap victim becomes attached to thier kidnapper.)
Faithie: The most dangerous person is the one with nothing left to loose.
Ickus: Thanks! I've been toying with some of Photoshop's other filter features.
Kali: And now that you are hypnotized... you will send me a chocolate shake in the mail.
Super Maths Beaver: Most of them are ginger, there are a few white ones running around. (General Kai is a white tiger.) Even though I haven't put any color pages up with any white tigers.
Confused Soul: Thanks fer the 5.
Raziel: (I'm guessing it's Raziel.) Thanks!
Draco: Pojo is Toshubi's son. As for being a soldier... I guess that's why they have boot camp, to see if you have what it takes to be a soldier. (Or in my opinion, if you lack enough free will to be one.)
*****I'm sure I'll catch hell for saying that.*****
Sakura5: Those are Toshubi's old farming clothes. (Yes Toshubi was a farmer before becoming a ninja.)
Mutation: Not the kind of end I'd wish for. (Thanks for the clarification. I'm a noob I know.)
Adariel: Thanks fer the 5.
Lithium7: What I found the most depressing what what my uncle said about his return home. How he was greeted by the very nation that he was drafted to fight for.
Jim: Yeah they do. But your eyes do tend to bug out when you're being strangled.
Sandy: That's putting it lightly.
Animegal: Yes it is.
Joff: Gotta be careful having free will while in the military. If they find out you have it, they'll try to strip it away ASAP.
Byakko: He's a nice guy, but he feels that he is still unforgiven for what he did. How do you apologize to the dead?
MOrgan: Thanks fer the 5.
Dragonki: Thanks fer the 5.
Kali: Kohi is drunk with power and will stop at nothing to get more.
Glass Ink: Thanks fer the 5.
Error: Thanks fer the 5.
Rubygem: Yay! Color!
Mikey: If he isn't already. Glad you like it!
Dragonzilla: Although I love your comment... you would be shot for following your heart.
MagicalM: Yep, bad puddytats!
>lordofthegames: I think you are mistaken in some of what you are saying. I sugest you go back and reread the flashback from the begining ("Old war stories part 1"). Also, refer to the pages leading up to that. I think you will find that the characters are not who you think they are.
and Kali:
Kohi didnt kill Toshubi's son cause he WANTED too, infact he DIDNT want to.
he was FORCED to kill him because that superior is a homicidal maniac (much like Toh, except not a perv)
Kohi had no choice and was forced to kill him, therefore he is NOT evil...AT ALL.
on a slightly unrelated note, the guy who forced Kohi to kill Toshubis son woudlnt be that guy Toh talks to in "Teach Them A Lesson!" would he?
cause he just lost an eye to Mrs. Toshubi, and that guy had an eyepatch
oh man....poor Kohi (or whatever that soldiers name is)
if I was forced to kill an innocent child agaisnt my will by my genocidal superior, I'd feel like a puppet for the evil Feline Empire.
Toshubi, I think it would be JUST if Kohi DEFECTED from the Empire and joined Toshubi in his goal of stopping the Empire's slaughter.
same thing for Lamiko
I really like the way the colours came out on this page, gives it a very firey feeling.
The emotion really comes out in the last three frames as well.
Great job on the page!!
Its odd to see the pages in colour (though I know you do it from time to time) 'cause I'm so used to seing it in black+ white I forget that the felines are ginger.

Wow... That's harsh!!! They really must die!!! A 5 out of 5!!!
Ack, to listen to a family die. And Toshubi looks really sad in the second to last panel.
And from last update: 1337 is a 'computer geek' slang and also the language of the said slang. 1337 means awesome, really good, elite, and such synonyms. 1337 is also written as l33t, and both are pronouced with a long-e for the 3's. 1337 or l33t I assume came from a shortened version of the word elite. 'Leet' might be a way of thinking of it.

I know what you mean my uncle was in Vietnam as well...I heard the same story...it really stays with you even if you didn't live it
