I know for many of you, I have just ruined the magic. R2D2 was never a real robot. He was just a shell into which the towering talent of 3' 8" Kenny Baker was packed. Every Dalek operator in Britain has to take their hat off to Kenny as a mark of respect. I have no doubt he faced claustrophobic conditions for long hours of filming in order to bring to us the lovable little Astromech droid. However, from what I've read, it sounds like putting up with co-star Anthony Daniels was worse. Seems there was an element of truth to their onscreen rivalry.

Just for anyone who is unfamiliar with Young George Lucas, that's who is stepping into the final panel. I may eventually add a character bio and gallery for the main cast of BMS. Particularly as some upcoming characters had VERY small parts in the films, or had their scenes cut completely. Kenny Baker's scenes were always short, however.
