Before I started doing BNRP, I'd seriously considered doing a Lego-based webcomic. It was going to be set ~10 years in the future, after humans had been brought into the galactic civilization due to a starship crash-landing off Long Island. It never got anywhere though, as I realized I did not have the time or patience to create the elaborate sets I wanted, nor the space to store them between shooting comics (because if you build a complete starship bridge, you aren't going to take it apart lightly, on the off chance you need it again in a few weeks. I did build the model of the crashed ship, and the office interior you see here. This would have been the first shot of the first comic, as the local Coast Guard supervisor is on the radio to the team he sent out to investigate reports of a “plane crash” spotted off shore.

It was still going to be a humor comic, just a bit more subtle than BNRP. The story was pretty much going to be an excuse to do space, aliens, and normal world stuff all in the same strip, plus get to drag in alien races, and human/alien interactions to give me lots of joke opportunities.

That seems like a pretty serious storyline for a lego comic. Sounds cool though.
