Where we've got to: It's complicated, but reporter Janet Wilkins has stopped evil telepath Doctor Faustus from controlling her mind by putting a bullet through his head, which he did not expect! Just seconds earlier Detective Donner was also controlled, by Officer O'Hara, but Donner has figured it's someone or something else that's taken on O'Hara's appearance. The doppelgänger has left Richbury's laboratory, leaving Donner to deal with the situation… namely Richbury's nefarious intentions, and the real O'Hara apparently stuck in a demonic form….
