Chapter 2 - Page 97

For a multitude of reasons too lengthy to list here, COCHLEA & EUSTACHIA is no longer a full color comic. I posted a general inquiry on Facebook asking readers for their opinions on a black & white C&E comic. Although there were some people who expressed a preference for color, most seemed to understand my reasoning for this shift.
Rather than going to grey, I’ve opted for a soft bluish tone, which I think matches the mood of the comic. I’m not a very good colorist, and I think this shift does draw more attention to my strength, which is nit-picky linework. It may take time, but I hope readers get used to this change.

I have been binge-reading this today and honestly I did not notice when it shifted from color to monochrome. The different values are used rather richly to the point of it not seeming any less complex than before (at least not at first glance).

If you didn't notice a change in the color palette, it's because I sneakily went back and changed all the prior pages of the current storyline to monochrome and never updated the announcement on this page. Thank you for the comments, by the way!

I hope he doesn't get a snag! The color choice is interesting. I'll admit I think the full color looked better, but I can understand needing to change things for practical reasons. The new monochrome look has a certain charm of its own.
