My mom snuck up on me while I was inking the last panel and yelled that exact line, thus nearly giving me a heart attack. Sneaking up on me while I'm working isn't hard, seeing as how I'm usually listening to music (Megadeth today) and can tune out the whole world to focus on whatever I'm working on.
She also commented that my characters tend to have foul mouths (even though my language is usually quite clean ). I've tried explaining to her the fact that my characters have their own personalities and will react to whatever situation I throw at them in their own way, and that changing anything about them to appease some silly taboo would make them unnatural and awkward to write for, but non-writers just don't understand that kind of predicament.

"GET IN THE FUCKING SWAN!" is now my favorite line from any comic, ever. XD And I hear you about the taboo thing. When I show my own parents certain pieces of artwork, they'll point at it and say, "Why is your art always so /negative/?" or something of the sort. Of course, upon hearing the "That's just how this certain character is," they graduate up to "Well then why are your characters always so negative?" Uurgh.
