Something's just not right about that hole. It looks veeeeeeeeeeeeeery suspicious. The way the hole is relatively shallow and empty – suspicious. Those partially unearthed roots – suspicious. The resulting instability of the tree – suspicious.

This is way too suspicious for your tastes. You feel a sense of suspicion coming on.
