Firey Skirmish (violence warning)

Okay guys, here it is. I love this page. As you can see, it has a bit of a warning on it, because I was afraid this level of intensity might upset unprepared readers, particularly babies. I mean, they just have no way of putting the images they see into context. Poor babies.

In truth, the the last panel is the one that pushes this page over the edge. I mean, we have a squirrel simultaneously stabbing a chipmunk through the skull, while ripping him in half and ripping out his intestines. :) That shit ain't for the faint-hearted. Why, you may well be asking, did I ever draw it in the first place? Because it is SO COOL!

Also, I wanted to, you know, shock people with the brutality of this skirmish.

Anyway, this page has some even nicer lighting, because my brother just returned my long-lost graphics tablet. I colored this baby with the aid of the tablet. Next update will be DRAWN with the tablet! WOOO! Now it won't take so long!

If you can't tell, the huge fires that you see are tents on fire, except for the far left one in panel one, which is a campfire. (most of the lighting here is cast from the campfires, you can tell when it's a torched tent because it's so much more intense)

In a couple of cases, the squirrels aren't wearing masks. The explanation for this is that they lost them somewhere in the battle. (I mean, i couldn't do that sword-through-the-jaw panel with a mask!)

Anyway, can't think of what else to say, other than that I love this page. It's prettyyyy, only not in the normal line of thinking. It's pretty to me, anyway.
