Look at the square pod first. and if he is in that mood to tap on the glass to annoy whatever is inside it. If it does ignore him. then kick the glass to wake up the creature or thing in there.

Pick up the grill, you may need a make-shift shield sometime soon, then cautiously make your way to the note, read it, then leave the pods alone. Who knows, it could be many sentry bots in rest mode, with organic processors, which would explain the ooze pods. Just get the item, the clue, and get the hell out of there!
