Flashbacks! Some people hate ‘em, some people love ’em. While it is possible to do a story without using them in any capacity, a visual medium, in my opinion, requires something to look at besides talking heads, so I prefer some visuals to go with the backstory.

I like a good flashback every now and then. And this instantly connects with me, too, having worked under certain people who made a kind of art form out of setting a stupidly impractical, ineffective and essentially useless task for you and later put all the blame on you for the task you performed being stupidly impractical, ineffective and essentially useless... Thank God I'm mostly past that.
