xmung here: I had more fun drawing this page than I expected I would. I've had a growing dislike for Chant's “I'm so much better than you, Hoodoo” arrogance for a few months now - and he has seriously pwned her two or three times now - and it felt really good to have her kick the living crap out of him. That rather visceral BLEARGH was actually Al's word… it really says “oh god, my intestines have just been turned inside out!!”
If you're wondering what Chant is attempting to do in the first panel you should check out the third Chant origin page where he deals with three rebellious magical Gangers by stealing their essence and power…
Based on where Chant's belt and HooDoo's foot are, I was thinking Bleargh would roughly translate to "So much for having any children." That attack can usually stop a man cold, even one half-way transformed to a lich. This appears to be closely followed by Guh, which I translate as "So much for eating solid food for a while."
"do you expect me to talk?" 'no mister bond i expect you die in this slow elaborate death trap.' "so why do all of this?" 'well i thought world domination out of my league, then i realized if knuckled down in high school and worked hard i might just be able to do it. but my freshman english teacher said that i was crazy to not just focus on making mass amounts of money by exploiting the capitalist system. my science teacher said that i was wasting mind on overly complicated schemes. my .... and then when i placed the self destruct button easy reach on the death contraption your in, just in case i ended up there, wait maybe i am talking too much.'
BTW, I'm rerunning all of Mindmistress' archives in daily doses on the Duck at http://www.drunkduck.com/Mindmistress_at_Drunk_Duck/, in case anyone is intimidated at the size of my archives. (Inspired by Xmung's similar take on Magellan here at the Duck.)
Gorgeous page xmung. Love your frame for the second panel. Chant may be good with magic, but he didn't count on a sorceress who knows martial arts. And I think that definition of "BLEARGH" should be put in the next edition of Webster's.
ah the balance of the world(s) has been restored. Wizards/Sorcerers still are a total whiny bitches! Errh wait, she's one too? dammit have to look into my hypothesis again...

Chant MAY have more of an edge in magicks, but there is NO doubt who has the edge in martial arts!

Man, Hoodoo subverts the squishy wizard trope HARD!

That's what Chant gets for not realizing Magellan crosstrain's their magic user's with the Rockettes!
