Why so serious? Look, we love the snarkfest between the principals just as much as the next guy—but you can't show a tragedy while cracking too many jokes.
Notice that there are all sorts of way to interact with each other—verbally but also by gesture and posture. One reason I love Remus' art is that last panel, where everybody's posture says something about them. (Remus' only complaint is that we always give him the serious stuff to draw….)
The “Sisters” are MM's enemies, the Sisters of the Twilight…except the Sisters only existed simultaneously in a few realities. Smiley's wife existed in ALL of them…
Had Ringo not acted, the multiverse would have collapsed into itself—a fate which would have made one nightmarish “reality” where literally ANYTHING might happen.
Or worse yet, become as confusing as the DC Universe, post-Crisis. (Shudder!)
UPDATE Tuesday evening! Hey, remember how the hero Therm from Special School showed up in the big crowd scene? Check out the latest Special School…http://specialschool.spiderforest.com/?comic_id=353 …to see Julian Harper, Therm's other identity, being “recruited”.
freaky, no wonder he flipped. Love the art, especially panel 2.
That paw could have come from Xade's reality :P to quote my banner "for every power in the universe there is a talent version on Xade"
Xade has dimension skipping too, but the very laws of Xade prevents merging of alts. One character met his alt in my book and nothing happened except they teamed up. Course if one could visit the neighboring dimensions then that could happen. As it stands one can only visit 10 dimensions away because the ones around you are doing the same exact thing you are . . .
That's why you should always use S.M.O.G. for your cross-dimensional travels. They work hard to make their gates as safe as possible to avoid things like that. ;-)

I've always thought the DC Universe is a scary place to live. You could just wake up one morning and find your entire life completely rewritten.

If there ever was a better way to make a villain out of a grieving hero... this is it. Dimensional travel has its dangers...

Couldn't resist quoting Heath Ledger, could you, Al?

I'm not complaining! I'm fine doing the serious stuff. And I'll get a joke or two, here or there. :)
