And just like that, we're back after a very brief Christmas break.
Fashionably late as usual, today's page was supposed to be up late last week, but someone scheduled a holiday on me. Something about putting lights on trees and exchanging gifts. Maybe you've heard of this day.
Anyhoo, in today's comic, Ultra finally joins the crew. And momentarily, I can start to expect a flood of hate mail asking me why his face is not yet in the banner. Uh… that's coming. Honest.
My apologies to Al, since he already had two pages ready for this week. Those are still coming. In fact, I'm uploading them along with mine, and you'll be able to read them on Wednesday and Thursday.
Three updates this week, boys and girls. We're sending 2009 off with a bang!
I check it fairly regularly, Red, but with the holidays and all, I must admit it slipped past me. As soon as Neil does that new logo he's been promising, I should make some of the new suggestions into a temporary logo on webcomicsnation.
And Legacy and Corruption, don't worry. Next update, tomorrow, MM will very MUCH try to get more information from Ultra. And act on it, as will be shown in the update Thursday.
I'd have to agree with Corruption. Why would a hero whose greatest asset is a genius level IQ, not want to have all the facts? It seems very out of character. It would have made more sense for another member of the team (someone more spontaneous and less calculating than MM) to interrupt Ultra.
I was wondering if you'd ever see those team-name ideas. That Forum of yours was getting pretty dusty, and when I posted I didn't realize that you might not even check it anymore
BTW, Red Death has added some new possible team names to the thread about naming the group in the forum, and I've added a new topic about other transdimensional teams in comics. Check it out!
Yeah, MM is feeling the urgency of the situation. They've got to get moving before Smiling Man finds out what happened. MM does want to listen, but they can't just be standing around. They've got to get moving.
I did stray from the script a little, but the script that I had was from a page that originally happened a page or two earlier, so I tried to do some ad-libbing to hook this and the next page closer together. The original script allowed for a larger pause, because we were originally going to cut to another scene inbetween.
To tell you the truth, that little bit startled me too, (we have a script we work off of, but we leave room for interpretation and ad-libbing by the individual artist) but I guess it's just the pressure of her realizing that they're still stuck underground in a prison which Smiley could flood with molten magma any second.

Was Ultra going to say they shouldn't break the fourth wall? Just go tell Das ^^

Looks great. And no worries about the banner, Ultra here is just now joining the group.

Smartest women alive and she doesn't take the time to learn what she needs to in such a situation.
