See? She really didn't have her memories taken away. They're recessed at the moment, but they will return to her in time, when she's mature enough to be a part of the network of heroes.
The tone I really wanted to go with here was that life goes on. Lisa returns to the mundane life from which she had escaped for a little while. Time to be a kid again.
I wanted this to be special. I actually had this drawn in my style at one point, but then I decided it would actually work better if I ended it in Ida's style instead. Obviously, I can only impersonate Ida's style to a degree, but I think I did alright.
And finally, who better to draw this series to a close than Ronson himself? If you don't know who Ronson is (and shame on you if you don't), then you need to check out The Gods of Arr-Kelaan, which is, in my opinion, quite possibly the best webcomic ever written.
And that's our tale, boys and girls. Curtain call, and all that jazz.
Awwww, I will miss this comics. It was one, big piece of awesomness and one of my favorites. It was great read, full of fun and inspiring. I'll be looking foward the sequels - who knows, maybe one of my works in progress will be around to participate in one (What? I have right to dream).
Oh, by the way - I wanted to mention Crossoverlord in one issue of my first project. Al, Neil - would you mind if I would e-mail or PM one of you with my idea to ask if you have nothing against it?
I like stories with endings, myself. :)
This was a lot of fun, and it was great working with so many skilled people.
I'm beginning to think I'm being too hard on my art. I should just do Genocide Man and let it fail (or not), and not worry so much. :) We'll see soon.
Al, Neil, Lewis, Abby, and everyone else -- Was an honor working with you, folks.
I dunno...most superhero things seem to go on forever, it's nice to see an ending, especially an ending we can be proud of. And we're leaving the door open for sequels.
And of course, many of us are still plugging away on the individual titles---MM and LB have their own ongoing, and Abby's started a NEW comic, called the ROSE DELI PROJECT at http://www.rosedeliproject.com. Remus is working on a new project called the GENOCIDE MAN--watch this space. Neil promises to start up Dasien and explain how she changed out of that red outfit to the one she wears in CROSSOVERLORD.
And there might be sequels....
I'm going to resume FLICKERFLAME, which is doing a side-story with Smiley in it, a la BGH adventures, set before our big ending.
I want to publicly thank:
Lewis for suggesting this and contributing the first synopsis:
Remus for his wonderful backgrounds, fine suggestions, and his first detailed draft of the first chapter and the final fight between the heroes and the villains, which he choreographed.
Ida for her three delightful pages---my one regret is that she dropped out so soon, her art was a high point of this series, and I would have loved for her to contribute more.
Abby for coming on board with TGA at just the right moment where we could fake EVERYBODY out...
Ben for contibuting Ultra, Ataxim, and especially that black, brick-like teleport effect of Smiley's...
Dan for contributing some of the best artwork of the series...
Dr. Destruction, who dropped out before we even got started, but who helped create Ringo's look, for instance. (Or "Bob", as we called him then, until the Monitor named Bob turned up in DC's COUNTDOWN.)
And last but not least, Neil, who contributed much of the pacing, humor, and in the latter half, even much of the editing.
Superhero webcomics tend to be ignored by webcomics critics and reviewers as a whole, and perhaps that's a good thing, but I still think this is a high water mark in webcomics crossovers. Not the biggest, but one of the best-crafted and strongest in story.
Keep this page bookmarked/faved. If there are any sequels (no time soon) we'll announce them here.
Its been a great run... thanks to all of your for putting this together and for what is spawned even before it began .)
With regards to crossovers, this comic truly rocked the socks of the webcomic comminities!!
great idea, I vote too for keeping the account active with data
like those marvel essential books , or the japanase data books)
At least BGH adventures will fill the void for a while.
@algeya: Bad Guy High Adventures will continue the Crossoverlord side-story.....eventually. When I have the time. (Sorry!)
I too am sad to see this end. You guys should keep this webcomic account active for a while, and just use it as a gallery to showcase Crossoverlord themed art and mini-comics.
