My mom made us all get AOL on our computers. About a year later, she finally lets me uninstall it. About a year later, I've done so while accidentally destroying some important files in the process. Whoops.

I work for Verizon tech support, so that AOL virus refrence is beautiful to me. We get calls all the time from people who "just wanted to try the cd cuz it was free..." We always freak out "AOL?!?! That's a VIRUS! Take your computer to repair and get it uninstalled or it will ruin your computer!!"

AOL version 4.0 did delete Internet Explorer if you tried to uninstall it. I work for a telecom company and I can tell you it did for sure.

Oh yeah, I remeber this one. Though AOL doesn't actually delete the other internet clients. I have AOL and I can still use Firefox fine.

Oh dear. Yes I know a few people who had AOL. The bigger the company, the shittier the product. Ha! Those viruses... ^_^ I love the one about the Grandmother. There's always some dickwit friend or relative that forwards crap like that constantly.
