for the armor vs gun, its pretty true. firearms back then had much lower power compared to modern ones, so knights at the time still had some chance with heavier armor. not so much today

on the whole armor vs. guns thing: the whole reason that armor ceased to be used anymore was that fire arms had rendered them completely obsolete. mind you earlier fire arms (anything before rifling) might have had issues, but a modern 9mm against a 16th century plate? no contest really.
