If you're curious, Adam Otis' mom and dad are star mutants which are the most common type of mutant as they were specifically bred to be servants 500 years ago. Gemini mutants like him are rare even now. For mutants, the type you are is random not hereditary. And yes, these guys dodged a bullet once, but fell short now.
