Last week, due to Drunk Duck going down for a bit, the page didn't go up at midnight as usual. The number of page-views last week was double the average of all the previous Thursdays.
Now, there not be a causal relationship here, but it seems equally reasonable to me that there might be. The “recently updated” list which shows on the main page goes in order by timestamp - and I would suspect that of those which auto-update at midnight, they do so in alphabetical order, pushing us even further down the list and decreasing the chances of catching new readers. Therefore, this will be a small trial, to see if causality can be established.
