Here's the latest Danielle Dark update. I know there isn't a flashy “Chapter Two” page, but this is the beginning of a new chapter. I hope everyone enjoys it.

Last Saturday I drove to Chicago to Wizard World. It was great, but I didn't get to spend nearly enough time there. Too many obligations at home this year. I'll keep my schedule open next time. Next year I would like to help man the Drunk Duck tables, if they'll have me.

I want to thank Nick, Carly, Amy and all the others for being so nice and letting me sit with them for more than an hour. It was great. Made this “old man” feel like a kid again.

Well, all's I know is that's a purty knife ... hyuck. *sounds of a scuffle* *oof, thwack* Get off ...! OK, I'm back - sorry, that was .. well, let's not go into that right now. I was interested to hear that info re: the snee - it's always neat to run into someone who has specialized knowledge about something that turns up in a comic. Usually for me it'll be a rat. Someone draws a rat into their comic and I'm like "no, the tail isn't right, the ears aren't right, they don't move like that" etc ... See, I'm not nearly as cool as someone who knows about knives ...

Would she happen to not know the properties of the stone in the hilt of that snee,(a snee refers to a double edged weapon that has a blade too wide to be called a stiletto and to large to be a dagger it normally was used in an Italian fighting style that involved a sword in the dominant hand and the snee in the other hand,spada e pugnale,espada y daga)those are often called soul stones and hold the soul of the person who is killed with the weapon. Sorry as usual I get on a soapbox and forget this isn't a class.

Danielle's got a great backstory, and this page is such a cliffhanger for the past to finally catch up with her. Can't wait to hear what this guy has to say! Also, the expression on her face in the third panel is really heavy! So emotive. [I'm jealous (in a good way) that you got to go to Wizard World, even if it was for a short time. It must have been fun!]

Woof...that is one of those kinda twisted ideas of remembrance there, I would think that it would bring on more bad memories than good memories... Oh well any port in a storm!
