Wow, Thip.... that must be the most proffessional appraisal I have rec'd yet. I am glad that a work this old is still able to generate such comments.
Thank you... and p-l-e-a-s-e guys, go see Transformers if you haven't. It ROCKS!!
Been lurking around for too long without giving credit where it's due. This story is fascinating to read, both in its own right, and as a "preview" of your later work. The art is full of rough edges, but we all know you've ironed out those by now in your superlative Takar saga. Your storytelling is already showing at this early stage your ability to tell a story forcefully and directly, without the self-indulgence that plagues so many modern comix. Brings back fond memories of Foster's Valiant and Kubert's Tarzan : strong archetypical characters (evil king, menacing wizard, scheming stranger, damsel in distress, flawed hero) and essential plots (the noble savage, the evil tyrant, "alien" invasion) - all stirred and cooked into a delicious stew. It's inspiring stuff; take a bow, you've earned it ;o)
Oh theyre Hot, but they are usually More trouble than they are worth...The chief has just started on the path of his own demise.,..I mean Look at what happened to the Hunter once he got smitten. they are trouble I tells ya, nothing but trouble...And Im WHITE!
