#9 - "You've been warned!"

The first thing you (should) will notice is that I tried to do some cel-shading. I’m pretty damned sure that I failed miserably and I’m not entirely sure that I’m going to keep that sort of thing in Don’t Feed the Animals for long. It all depends on the kind of feedback I get about it (IE: Please leave some comments on what you think of it, kay?). I’m still learning about this whole thing, and I think I need to consult my local art teacher about it…meh, we’ll see. If I can get it down properly, it'll be just one more step towards my conquest of the Drunk Duck main page.
*Maniacal laughter*
Also: I’m not sure if there’s anything funny about this page at all *frown*. If you thought it was funny, God bless your heart, because I’m pretty sure this one is a failure. My 10th comic is comic up on Monday. I have something special planned for this insignific…umm…I mean…momentous occasion *wink wink, nudge nudge*.
(No…there will be no boobies.)
So…if anyone knows where to find a good tutorial on cel-shading…hit me with some linkage, alright?
Thanks for all your support as always!
You've been struck by a smooth criminal,
Ryan

Personally, I think the "gangster talk" is too much. I know it's his character but a)It's a bit hard to read. and b) I'm not a fan of the whole "gangster" accent anyways. Seems like it only makes a person seem less intelligent.

Touche, salesman. However, I still say the style you have going now works well. Too much focus on shading loses the cartoon aspect. Keep on rocking, though.

The shading serves its purpose. Not quite "cel-shading," or at least what I'd consider it to be, but It works for the comic though. I'd keep it this way, especially since it's easier to go overboard with shading than it is to go "underboard." This comic is awesome, man.

Ah... Wla-Mart runs, I hate that store, but when you go there with the aim of destroying it... all is well... We've had a few in college. Very good! Which reminds me, I need to get more of mine out...

I thought the shading was done pretty well - it helps bring out some definition in the characters, and isn't over the top or intrusive or anything like that. It looks quite good in the 1st panel especially :) The effect of them being viewed 'through the glass' with a light blue wash over the windscreen worked well - maybe you should have had the view through the back windscreen done like that as well in the 2nd and 4th panels. There's still some humour to be found in this comic (although I hope he washed the seat or something after the last comic :P - maybe that's why no one has noticed the farting - it's just been lost in the smell already there!) - maybe the 'flashback' panel should have been, rather than one incident, a flashback of several breaking incidents, each one being bigger and stupider than the one before, or something? I hope that 'nudge nudge, wink wink' comment means what I think it means ;)
