In a “real” space battle, I would think the ship's interior will all be devoid of atmosphere. (Star Trek and Galactica space ships would be a quick kill - any minor breach into space would doom the entire crew.) The last thing you need when a hull is breached is things being sucked out into space - however - if a suit is breached from shrapnel and the ship is in a vacuum, the crew member will quickly die. What to do? So, I designed the space suit with built-in tourniquets that can be deployed to prevent complete oxygen loss (as long as the torso or head isn't hit)… Plus I added air in this sequence to make it more dramatic :) I mean you can have sound and then all of a sudden no sound - like ‘in space no one can hear you scream’…

Good drama, maybe in a real space warship the outer sections would be depressurized in combat. Explosive decomression is a bad thing to happen to your ship, NASA tests with quarter inch steel plate ripped them like paper...
