Multiple systems failures in a battle... quite realistic as the systems overload they fail from the stress or enemy action.
A real life example from WW2 is USS Alabama had her main circuit breakers trip during the battle of Savo Island, for several minutes she couldn't fire main weapons, steer, or communicate as all these things needed electricity to operate.
There's a rumor that the US navy tried "Windows for missile cruisers" a few years back and the computer crashed during a fleet exercise with results similar to this page. The 'we need to use commercial software to save money' faction lost a lot of credibility after that.
