genius, love it. this comic capitalizes on the phenomenon of bizzare, nightmare-fueled fan art of mario and the simpsons
The Many Deaths of Mario literally made me laugh out loud several times. The comic itself is simple and consistent, while the art is unique and wonderfully grotesque. I also like the idea of seeing the many ways Mario can die in a more realistic like. Poor Mario!
It manages to be entertaining in a similar way to Spy Vs. Spy – it's not the plot, it's not the art… it's the unexpected twist. In this case, the twist is in how the death will be depicted, in comparison to the little “owie I fall off the screen” death of old.
