I agree that The Frolic is very tightly written. It also has a style to it and a mood that is definitely giving that noir vibe. It's creepy, it's horrifying, and it's messing with your mind
The art fits the comic’s disturbed mood well. It’s as deeply dark as “noir” can possibly get.

Congrats to The Frolic! All the nominees brought their best and really left it all out there on the page, Frolic just executed better, they did a heck of a job. My guys and gals - Reno, Possum, Tammy - put in a good team effort, but at the end of the day, wins are hard to come by at the Duck. We'll continue to make adjustments and take it one panel at time. We're ready to look ahead to next year.
