Oh yes, folks, your eyes do NOT deceive you! Remember, at the beginning of Book One, Sapphira was not yet plus-sized…but she wasn't this thin, either! So, 2.5 years ago, Phira was in fact skinnier than her mom.

I enjoyed doing this page. It really ties in well to the roots of the comic as well as the current story. This is the first of a two-page scene that contrasts Brielle's relationship with her sister, Sapphira, to her relationship with her friend, Carolyn. It's a pretty stark difference. We also see that Crystal was the inspiration for Phira starting her own jewelry business in Canada. Interesting, eh?
