Due East - Book 4 Page 17

June 14, 2008 Update: Still more apologies. Many things have been going on and the next page is in the works.
I was going to wait till the next page to announce this but you, the readers, deserve to know what we've been up to. We've been building a Due East website that will mirror the archives on Drunk Duck and organize everything in one online area! It's not 100% complete but the full archive is up and most of the sections are complete.
If you want a sneak peak, you can visit it at

May 28, 2008 Update: Apologies for more delay. We're redoing the pencils for page 18. It really does need to be right because it's a super important page (I call it the 2nd most important page in the issue). It's also the end of the flashback sequence. I know it's been almost a month but please bear with us. It'll be worth it!
May 21 Update: Okay, Tuesday didn't work so well! I ended up having to get some rather critical errands done, all of which required being out in the nice 98+ degree Texas heat (think Sapphira in Book 1 Page 9.) Although very much got accomplished, it did kinda wipe me out. Probably a few more days…BUT, the initial pencils are done! It won't be too much longer now, really!
May 18, 2008 Update: I'm alive! The next page is written and I believe I can have it drawn and finished by this coming Tuesday. I'll give you the details on the delay then but basically, all is well. - Allen
Original blurb: Did we psyche you out? lol! After that talk with her dad, Carolyn wants to listen to what a pastor has to say. And she wants her best friend along for support. That makes sense, doesn't it?

I really enjoy the last two panels. They're saturated with emotion.

Allen, you draw some of the most beautiful female faces in comics.

Love atmosphere of this page, can't really explain it, but it's perfect!

Great new page man! Panel four is very strong and emotional. Great work. =]

I remember feeling very awkward the 1st few times I went to church as well. After a while it becomes like a second home. Though my weekend job kinda killed my church going habits =(

Very sensitive page. Never been able to get into the whole religion thing myself but, if it works for her, I'm all for it! Oh, and I love the superimposed memory in Panel 3!

Okay, wow...thought it was something completely different. I guess the mind tends to wander sometimes (however, it didn't go anywhere too distant). But still, this is a good page!

Gotta admit, you psyched me out! Good job!

It's a hard decision to make - she's being very adult about the whole thing (at least, *I* think it's very adult to realize you can't cope with everything on your own).

I like this page. Not too surprising, either XD

Lol. I don't know if it was a "psyche out" since it could have been anything. Any suggestion/request tends to meet with a similar reaction if the phone wakes you up. Anyway, I'm guessing she's about to do that acceptance/baptism thing. Some people are persuaded by a revival or camp... For others, it's a beating, I suppose.

Funny guy! I meant next in line for a feature from the OH crew! I read the OH forums, buddy. I say, you'll come WAAAAAAAAAY before me. This dove-tailed quite nicely. Everyone reaches that point where redemption is more necessary than just saying you're sorry. It's the theme of your comic. That fourth panel is simply lovely. Coughs *you'renext* cough!
