I relate to this guy as somebody who's been in 2 car accidents (Neither of which were my fault btw). Reminds me mainly of the time I got rear ended by a HGV I got out just fine but the entire back of the car was completely mashed.
I was in a car that flipped at 70 mph and skidded upsidedown across a major highway and stopped on a hillside. (My sister broke her neck and cracked her skull, but I wasn't hurt.) I've had two minor incidents since then, but that was the one that left an impression. (Had some PTSD whenever I was in a car for quite a while. I couldn't bring myself to drive until I was 28.)

It definitely takes more time to recover mentally/emotionally than physically.

Dang I'm glad you made it out in one piece that must have been scary. My HGV incident happened on my 3rd driving test, it's still a shock years later
