Oh dear, has someone been having a sneaky nibble? Amy doesn't seem impressed - understandable after putting out a nice bowl of crisps (chips for US readers). I wonder what flavour vampires prefer?
Always so exciting to see more new pages from you and I had several to catch up on today which was a bonus for me! I noticed below you've said you like to 'play fast and loose with vampire law' which feels really great. The original concept is very limiting and certainly begs for a wider range of possibilities to explore which you do very well indeed!
Thanks, I'll go more into that as things progress. Lydia began life as a throwaway character for a short story - not much setup needed as we all know how vampires work. Then she developed an opinion and told me in no uncertain terms almost everything I thought I knew about vampires was a lie!
So pretty yet so dangerous. David's light-headedness is perhaps his best defense against the threat of going batsh!t insane from the horrors he has witnessed tonight. You'd think that might be something that vampires would deliberately do, if they didn't intend to off their victims. ★★★★★
As in a vampire bite could have psychoactive properties, calming the victim or even making it a pleasurable experience? You are streets ahead of where this is going. They draw you in with alluring looks, then hook you with intoxicating sucks!
Haha - I don't remember seeing a vampire bite-victim being lightheaded in quite this way, but it makes perfect shensh! Artwork - perfect. Easy to miss with the fun of reading David's dialogue here.
I've played fast and loose with vampire lore for this comic, which will be explained as we go forward. I hope it works! It's good to hear the art is playing support here - I'm trying to focus on writing first and foremost.
I agree and he's now on a journey which could turn out to be the making of him. Amy must have thought bringing these two together would do some good, but she doesn't seem happy with this turn of events and Lydia strikes me as more death coach than life coach!

I love this story, and your drawing style.

Wow thank you, that is super appreciated. I have so much planned for this comic, hope you'll continue to enjoy it!

Vampires like tangy mustard prawn chips..............or so I'm told.
plymayer at 8:16PM, Jan. 18, 2024
Dip them in ranch salad dressing.
Ironscarf at 8:12PM, Jan. 18, 2024
Tangy mustard prawn chips? Sounds delicious, why have I never tried those? Damn vampires must be snagging them all before anyone else gets a chance.

Whichever way you look at it, it is clear that David had a huge need for improvement in every regard.

Seems like you can win in the vampirism lottery or lose just as easily.
Ironscarf at 10:35AM, Jan. 18, 2024
It does seem that way doesn't it? David appears to be feeling like a winner right now, but I suspect that feeling may wear off quickly!
marcorossi at 6:58AM, Jan. 18, 2024
Poor David is just a victim!
Ironscarf at 7:35AM, Jan. 18, 2024
It's true, but aren't we all victims of our own circumstances? It could be worse, he's getting free nibbles at least!
Jamie59 at 5:20AM, Jan. 18, 2024
Won't be Garlic & Onion. David sure has Mellowed.
Ironscarf at 5:40AM, Jan. 18, 2024
Haha! I guess not! I wonder if this effect is permananent, or will he be back to his uptight self again?
bravo1102 at 4:57AM, Jan. 18, 2024
Steak and onions crisps for vampires. Poor guy, get him a cup of tea.
Ironscarf at 5:13AM, Jan. 18, 2024
Tea would be a good start. Heaven knows what kind of witches brew they've got in those pentangular mugs.
