Energize #1 - Page 19:
Yes I know it has been too long since the last page, but I have been very busy and I have also been away a bit so that's my excuse.
Hope you like the latest page, it was done in little bits over the last couple of weeks which is not how I like to work, so im a little unsure of it…but…it does the job and edges me closer to the end of this scene.
What is good about it is that it is the start of Energize troubles to come and the whole point of the story…
One other thing. If you like this comic, I have started a Sketchbook comic which will contain Fanart and original pencils from Energize and other stuff. There are two pictures on it at the moment and each one is part of what will be the cover to Energize Part 2, so if you get a chance check it out.
Hope you enjoy.

Oh, and because I'm too geeky to let it slide...say hello to Optimus Prime, folks!

Ladies and gentlemen, Energize: part superhero, part Predator. Love the vision-power!

Some thanks... @Fitz: Thanks for the comments, I always appreciate your input to the comic. I understand where you are coming from with what you are saying but I purposely want this comic to have that glossy ââ¬â¢idyllicââ¬â¢ look. I think it is an element that is lacking in superhero comics of today. I appreciate the views though. @ ozoneocean: Thanks. Im a predator fan!! @TheMidge28: Thanks. Predator is cool! I know the art is not great on this page, but all I can do is try and make the next page better. @ D0m: I didnââ¬â¢t spend ANY time on the backgrounds, I barely mustered the motivation to draw the characters. Thanks for the comments. @Vindibudd: Hah! Wellââ¬Â¦Energize is not British, he is from a fictional American cityââ¬Â¦but I am from London. You spotted it! I suppose I should have used ââ¬ËMomââ¬â¢ or ââ¬ËMaââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬Â¦ @harryq, Matalicman, doomedd44, man in black, literacysuks1, Inlad, Dchao, Toughy, Abt_Nihil: Thanks for the comments!

I think you could experiment a bit with the sky in the background, in terms of colors especially. The way it is, it makes the three panels look too idyllic. Off the top of my head, try brown-to-cappucino gradient, at least for the first one. You could also try to make the sky in each panel in a different color theme, ranging from one suggesting still present danger to one that symbolizes some sort of safety (still not complete, since the mother's yet to be saved). One thing I'd also play around with is reflecting the color of the surroundings on the characters - i.e. if they're surrounded by smoke, they're gray, if by fire, orange. Otherwise they look a bit detached from it. Also, the truck doesn't look up to par with your skill in drawing characters, so work on that. The last three panels, on the other hand, is you at your best :) Looks really great, especially E clutching at his head.

I like the green vision thing in the last panel. But that's pretty nice art all round. Nice sharp, clean and bold.

I like the Predator view in the last panel and agree with Abt Nihil on the pose the 4th panel...go stuff... the time constraint does show though...
D0m at 12:38PM, Aug. 18, 2007
It seems like you didn't spend -too- much time on the background. Anyway, I like how you draw your poses. Is he getting the Spider-Man vertigo syndrome?
Dchao at 11:17AM, Aug. 18, 2007
woop update.
Abt_Nihil at 6:39AM, Aug. 18, 2007
Great pose in the 4th panel... the kids look like they're having fun ^^

Mum? Is Energize British? Holy Across The Pond, Batman!

Isn't it a pain when real life gets in the way of the drawrings?
