Energize #2 - Page 24
Latest update. Some more origin stuff to reveal a little of what happened those 10 years ago. There is one more page to go in this part, then there will be a bit of a break while i work on the Energize & Dasien crossover.
But then it will be all out…when the Energize & Dasien crossover begins, so will Energize #3, Salvation #1 and a Fearless update to boot! Oh what fun…
Anyway, i hope you enjoy this latest page and it shouldn't be too long until the next one.

Some more thanks... @pinkertonpark: Thanks for the comments! @melsr007: I take it you like this page? @MrHades: Coming from the artist of Relic, thatââ¬â¢s a compliment! Thanks!

Some thanks... @Fitz: Thanks. I needed to make this entire issue quite slow paced to deal with the background for the characters and parts of his origin. The last half of this story will be much more action orientated. @trevoramueller: I am definitely going to need to change this page. Once I have completed the entire thing I will give it all a quick edit. Thanks for the comments @TheMidge28: Thanks, Midge! I should have used panelsââ¬Â¦ @man in black: Thanks @Inlad: Thanks! More crackling energy still to come. @ToonmanAZ: Thanks very much! It has taken me some time to come up with a comfortable way of doing his power fx, but im pretty happy with this method. @D0m: Well I thought as he has no real day job and yet seems to maintain a nice lifestyle, it made sense that he had to raise the funds to do the hero thing 24 hours a day. @QSAMA: Yes, her pink hair is a direct result of being caught in her energy blast @Carbajal3000: Thanks @alschroeder: Thanks for the comments! I will be making your fan art image available on the next update. @DAJB: Characters canââ¬â¢t exist without a backstory! @Abt_Nihil: Thanks for the compliments!

I really love this page. The coloring and the f/x are great - especially the vertical panel. And I like how the story slows down to tell some more of the background story.
trevoramueller at 9:26AM, March 10, 2008
I was also a little confused by the text placement (I think having a "..." to help lead the reader's eye may help, so panel 1 ends with it and verticle panel 2 starts with it). Great stuff as always, though!
TheMidge28 at 10:15AM, March 9, 2008
love the back tale and the emotional motivation...great job. the text placement was bit confusing. I thought the second panel went all the way down the left side of the page but found out that not to be the case...
Inlad at 4:29PM, March 8, 2008
Sweet page!!! I live the first and second panels. It's just so cool, how he is crackling with energy. Inlad The Dashing Paladin.

I love the light effects you create!
D0m at 9:38AM, March 8, 2008
The idea of him having to fund his superhero life is incredible to me.
QSAMA at 9:35AM, March 8, 2008
hmm so did the explosion turn her hair pink? awsome!!!
alschroeder at 7:51AM, March 8, 2008
Origins are always defining moments. And a little guilt to motivate them is a GOOD thing.
DAJB at 5:24AM, March 8, 2008
Yay - backstory! Riveting stuff!
Nepath at 2:41AM, March 8, 2008
i thought that wasn't very well placed. It's actually supposed to be after he says he ran. Maybe if I get a chance i will move it a bit more.
Abt_Nihil at 2:29AM, March 8, 2008
There's nothing quite like a tragedy in the hero's past to motivate him :-) Anyway, great page... the 2nd panel looks like classic Kirby-esque superhero-stuff, while the 3rd reminds me of Go Nagai's work. Only thing I don't quite get is the "and decided not to stop?"-caption. It's supposed to be a response to Energize's "I did.", right?
