Lunch Time for a Superhero

Here's a great pic from JKR (the same artist who did the “alternate” cover for Issue 4 and owner of jkrcomix.com–an adult comic site, so consider yourself warned). This was originally just a sketch from his sketchbook that he uploaded, and I liked it so much I had to ink and color it (and add the lunchbox detail). The background is also my doing, and a glimpse at Savunn's high school (which will feature at the beginning of Issue #5).
This is the last of the “other artists” pics. Next week, Savunn will begin posting some vacation postcards complete with written messages to you folks.

Remember to land on the floor smoothly kids. The laws of physics are a real stinker.

Nepath--Anything you feel like doing would be awesome. As I've said before, I love your bold style, and it'd be great to see anything you cook up. Perhaps a pic exchange--I could send you something for Energize.

jamoecw--In the original pencils, JKR just had "Lunch Box" written on the lunchbox. And funny you mention the other hand. When JKR saw that I inked the pic (this was before I colored it), he said something like, "Had I known you were gonna ink it, I would've had her right hand doing something more interesting." And I could learn a ton from him. He can do a ton of styles (from a dead-on J. Scott Campbell look to a good Bruce Timm--as with his alternate Fusion #4 cover that I posted awhile ago--to a more cartoony Disney-like look--kind of like what he did with Savunn here). The original pencils for this were really just a quickly sketched doodle (amidst a bunch of other doodles), so anything "weird" is a result of this just being a quick doodle instead of actual polished pencils on his part. Needless to say, I'm a big fan of his work, and he's also given me a lot of help and encouragement for a number of years now.

what was she holding originally? and was her other hand holding something? i have to say that the breasts seem to be more fitting for savunn, probably because he is an adult artist (not saying yours is childish, i am saying he thinks more about the breasts that he draws). though i think the shoulders and eyes you draw for savunn are better for savunn. now that i am looking at it, you can tell that is done by an adult artist, the knees, the facial expression, the hips. i may watch too much porn, though i doubt such a thing can occur. overall i'd say that if you are looking to learn something from him, i'd look at breasts. adult artists tend to do good breasts when they aren't trying to create super behemoths. though beware the facial expressions, knees and hips that they draw, they are always weird in a certain way.

nice picture! If you're ever looking for a guest artist on a front cover or something then I'd love to give it a go :)
