Vacation Photo #1
EssayBee on Sept. 13, 2011
Here's the first of Savunn's vacation photos from her trip to Disney World (as has been correctly guessed earlier) this past summer, complete with a note from Savunn. As you've probably noticed, Savunn is also sporting a new hairstyle, which will also be seen starting in Issue #5.
Vacation photos continue for the next two updates, then Issue #5 begins posting on October 4. For those who think I might be slacking, starting on Thursday (Sept 15), I'll have art duties on the next 2 pages of “Crossoverkill” (see link at left) and another page currently scheduled to come out on Sept 29. I'm also finishing up the extra content for the print copy of Fusion #4 (and Savunn just sent me her “Savunn's Corner” for the issue), and am hoping to have all materials sent to the printer by the end of this week. The issue should be ready for ordering later this month/early October. Since Issue #4 was giant-sized, print costs will be roughly double a standard issue, and I believe the selling price will be somewhere between $6.49 and $6.99 (whichever is the lowest price Indyplanet will let me sell it for). As far as Issue #5 is concerned, scripting is over halfway complete (back to a regular-sized issue), the cover and page 1 are completed, and layout/pencils are finished for page 2.

smkinoshita--Yep. I'm interested in your experiment. Keep me in the loop, please.

jamoecw--D'oh! Big palm to forehead. I'll have to tell Savunn to correct it and re-upload a corrected version (her brain must be on vacation too). Don't know if Disney Land revised their Star Tours, but it's probably a good bet since Lucas wants everything Star Wars to be state-of-the-art. As for the 50-some variations--see my response below. As for Savunn's location . . . she's on the East Coast living on the outskirts of the Twin Cities of Monstro City (where the comic's taken place so far) and Atro City (Brooder's turf--although he spends a good bit of time in Monstro City as well). More of the Twin City geography will be explained in the coming issues (including a bit toward the end of Issue #5).

darth_paul--I wondered about that. I figured you could ride it a lot less than the 50-some variations advertised to see all of the different components, and six times seems a reasonable number. If my scene count is correct, the ride is composed of 4 adventure segments (each about 90 seconds in length). The 50-some variations come from possible combinations of the different segments, so there's a lot of overlap and flip-flopping of the same segments.

The new 3D version of Star Tours is indeed awesome. I too still love the original, but the new one is a worthy successor. Although, I read somewhere that if you went on it six times in one day, you'd get to see all the variations, it's really that simple in the rotation. I only went on it once though myself.

Try not to melt anything, I haven't been there yet.

I guess heroes need holidays too.

leave it to me to spot the mistakes, but if she has gone there every third year since she was seven then she has been there 4 times (unless she is in 13 and not 16) as the first time she went would be when she was seven, then 10, 13, and now at 16. i am sure you had a palm to forehead moment well before i broke it down though. i remember the original at disney land, did it go 3d there as well? does it really have 50+ variations? that is pretty darn cool, i'll have to take my nephew and nieces there if that is the case. i know i'll like it as well as my nephew as were both pretty big star wars geeks. what state is savunn from? can't remember right now.

Dude, I never assume an artist slacks off. Usually burn-out is the cause. Also you might be interested in the results of an experiment I hope to get running, in regards to books...
