Fusioin #5 Page 8
EssayBee on Dec. 6, 2011
Here's page 8 of Fusion #5 and a crash-course introduction to the Fab Five. Keep in mind this is Fusion's imagining of a full-page splash introduction (as she set up last page) and is not actually happening. All of the facts on the page are, however, true. For those wondering about the different appearance of Flamer on this page . . . He actually has three forms. The first is his regular human form (not powered up at all). The second form is his semi-powered or hovering form, seen on the previous page. This page shows his fully powered up form (which he needs to be in to fly). He can hover in his semi-powered form (like on the previous page), but he can only propel himself (and shoot fireballs) while fully powered up. Also, Polygraph has no hair on his body–a side-effect of his “phasing” ability. He can only vibrate “living” cells, so any dead cells (e.g., hair and fingernails) fall off. Thankfully, his body has adapted so that his skin is never raw.

'Nuff said, true believers! Excelsior!

These guys are cooler than the FF! (sorry but I never liked them that much, just ben grimm)

sound is the vibrations in the air, so technically being able to generate sound waves should mean that he can use his powers to imitate speech. unless of course if his abilities aren't refined enough to control the vibrations in such a manner.

what of polygraph's clothes and bones? did his bones become some sort of super dense cartilage? is his uniform some sort of fungi? can dr. electric detect the frequency of electricity as well? sometimes skin effect comes into play with electronic devices. if so what about the workings of waveguide type electronics (radar, high frequency comms)?

coolclaytony--That was exactly the voice I heard when putting the page together.
Nowizard at 4:18AM, Dec. 7, 2011
And now i want a theme song for them
coolclaytony at 2:44AM, Dec. 7, 2011
Say this in a Stan Lee voice and your awesome.

It's interesting when a character has an ironic power/disability relationship. I metioned Pride High in my comment on the last page, but I thought I'd mention them again. One of their main characters is a blind girl who has light-based powers. It's just something that adds an interesting dimension.

since sounds are vibration to a certain point. can't he make a voice by making something vibrate? what material could be used that way? i wonder how a trash can would sound.
Dragonfire10503 at 8:49AM, Dec. 6, 2011
So the guy with the soundwaves is mute hu, thats ironic.
EssayBee at 8:12AM, Dec. 6, 2011
Ozmandious--That would've been awesome!
dragonestea at 8:12AM, Dec. 6, 2011
this is actually pretty badass.
Ozmandious at 7:57AM, Dec. 6, 2011
at least they're not doing a hi-five
alschroeder at 7:54AM, Dec. 6, 2011
Oops. My bad mute. Maybe for Black Bolt's reasons?
alschroeder at 7:53AM, Dec. 6, 2011
Ooooo. I really like Sonic, even though I keep expecting him to be a superfast hedgehog. The idea of a deaf person able to manipulate sounds is very intriguing.
Zephyrion at 7:41AM, Dec. 6, 2011
I wonder if Sonic has enough control over his powers to recreate a voice for himself.

Mr Kaos--Dr. Electric has some generally accepted theories on why each of them has the powers they have (he doesn't believe the powers each of them received were random), but that'll be discussed at another time.
EssayBee at 6:59AM, Dec. 6, 2011
smkinoshita--More or less. They're Fusion's dimension's version of the Fantastic Four, although more in spirit than actual abilities (granted Dr. Electric is similar personality-wise to Reed Richards).
Mr Kaos at 6:58AM, Dec. 6, 2011
a guy who deals with sounds... is mute. well would be more iornical if he was deaf. :)

nyysjan--You hit the nail on the head when you mentioned Psy-Girl's pose being "traditional," even if it is exaggerated. Like I said, this is Savunn's mental image of a traditional group-shot splash page, so the posing reflects that.
smkinoshita at 6:04AM, Dec. 6, 2011
So only vaguely a parody of the Fantastic Four.
nyysjan at 5:13AM, Dec. 6, 2011
Now, it's traditional and all in superhero comics, but, i still have to ask. Why is Psy-girl posing like that?
