Here's page 18 of Fusion #5, and X-Pletive gets his preach on (which he wraps up next page). This page also shows the three phases of Flamer's power. On a different note . . . I'm doing art for Crossoverkill this week, so click on the link to the left to see Fusion duking it out with one of the Doppleganger Gang!

I guess it takes being a super-strong curse flinging preacher to get those WBC assholes to listen long enough to talk reason to them. The WBC is an especially annoying case when it comes to bigotry. Most bigots are simply stupid. The people in charge of the WBC, on the other hand, are actually surprisingly smart. That's annoying because you would think that would mean that they would be able to see the obvious flaws in their arguements, but being brainwashed from birth in a doctrine of hate can do terrible things to a person. For every argument, Fred Phelps (who I believe is a pathological attention seeker and probably doesn't buy his own bullcrap for a second) has come up with a counter-argument. Even if said counter-argument is stupid, it's enough to keep his herd of sheeple from listening to logic.

Mechian--X-Pletive's not done yet, and one of your remarks is something the big guy will pick up on next page. X-Pletive could go on for pages (and as his alter-ego, he has written a number of papers--both anthropological and theological--on the matter). And the Romans verse you're talking about is the one X-Pletive would argue is inaccurately interpreted and is referring to the male (and female) temple prostitutes. The terms of the day that were the closest equivalents to homosexuality as a whole were never used, but the words used all tended to refer to same-sex prostitutes and rape. With any kind of translation, there is a certain level of interpretation necessary, but as you point out, using the Bible to justify hate goes against its core teachings, so X-Pletive would argue such interpretation is wrong. (Might be some minor spoilers about the next page.)

Not quite sure what this page is about. plot wise anyways. pretty sure the idea is that God doesn't hate anyone. which is true. But Xpletive is wrong about paul. it's 4 am right now where i'm at so I'm not going to look it up but there is a verse somewhere in the new testament, i think romans, that talks about men laying with men and how its a perversion. that may be the prostitute thing he was talking about tho, cause i know i'm not a scholar. Paul also constantly says that the old law is no more and that there is a new law, which would erase Leviticus anyways. but yeah Love thy neighbor as thyself and judge not lest ye be judged would imply that even if they are gay we aren't supposed to judge em and we are supposed to love em. as an pastor used to say, love the sinner and hate the sin.
