Here's page 5 of Alanna's interview with Captain Stupendous. Thursday will see the last page of this interview, and next week will see the start of Issue #9.
Conlan--As for characters who inspired Wandering Whistler . . . He's sort of a cross between The Shadow, Hellboy, Doctor Who, and Deadman. Although, now that you mention it, Phantom Stranger would certainly fit in (although he wasn't someone I thought of).
Conlan and Davidj--Wandering Whistler is a character I'd love to do a series for. I actually have some rough scripting and rough plotting for a WW series. Hopefully I'll find the time to do it some day. (And the series would actually start on the night--back in Fusion #4--when Thermo kills Wandering Whistler.)
If I read this correctly then this reality's version of the Phantom Stranger is dead. Was the Wandering Whistler weaker than the Phantom Stranger or were you thinking of some other character when you created your character?
@EssayBee: The natural black holes are beyond our comprehension too :), I mean, we lack the quantum theory for gravitation, so we only know how the black hole looks from outside, not how it looks "inside".
@zgrssd: Of course neutron star cannot be denser then a Black hole. But the reverse is false as well - you can't compare it at all. Because density of neutron star is (big) number (with units), while density of black hole is undefined. How can you tell the black hole is small when it doesn't HAVE width, height or depth?
@hkmaly: A neutron star cannot be denser then a Black hole. Because the average post supernova black hole has more mass then a neutron star, compressed on a even smallerpoint (a sigularity). Even if a specific Black hole would be lighter then a specific neutron star (to heavy neutron stars actually collapse in a black hole, even if the mass get's added later), that mass is compressed into a space so small that does it not even *has* width, height or depth dimensions.
HEY!!! Fusion fans, CROSSOVERKILL--which featured, among other characters, Fusion--won for BEST OVERALL STORY at the Drunkduck Awards! Thanks for all your support!
hkmaly--Sadly, he didn't bring any info back from the black hole--he just saved the world without consulting any one. Even if he did talk to some scientists, I don't think they would've had the nerve to say, "Say, while you're up there . . ." even if they did have an instrument to take measurements on hand.
As for the singularity . . . Well, as the Captain said, it was a created black hole and not a naturally occurring one, so the Creeping Order's device that created the black hole is the singularity. Science, reason, and traditional physics sort of go out the window when you're talking about the Nothingverse and black holes. Like with the Captain's ship (see inset on previous page), this sort of tech and its workings are just beyond our comprehension.
Sooo ... what did the scientists said on informations he brought from the black hole? Because, you know, bringing informations from black hole is supposed to be impossible.
Center of black hole is NOT densest thing known to humans. Center of neutron star is. Center of black hole is something operating outside our physical laws and terms like density don't make sense there.
Unless ... you know ... it would be much more beliavable if he stopped the forming of black hole BEFORE it actually became black hole. It's not like the moment the core of it collapsed into singularity would be visible from outside.

I suspect being dead isn't necessarily an impediment to a person who has the power to move between the worlds of the living and the dead.

Well played, Brooder. Well Played.
