Dreaming in Hindi

In my head, this is hilarious. And don't expect me to ever love you this much again. I wanted this comic to look really spiff because we're looking at a different time. Also, Shiva was, and still is, annoying to draw. I dislike drawing him.

Today's comic is based in mythological history! Or at least my re-writing of the history I learned from Wikipedia. Kali is a violent drunkard of a goddess, known for getting drunk on the blood of her victims and dancing on the bodies. The only thing that stops her is Shiva, who lays down underneath her feet, and she hears his groans and comes to her senses. Most myths involving Kali center around this theme- Shiva controlling his out of control consort. And in the 17th or 18th century, in Burma (I think) Kali is seen as more motherly. So this story is right then- as Kali sees the pain her people (any and everyone who worships her) in pain and war (Which pretty much is always true), and starts to avenge them because of her new motherly feelings towards them, and Shiva tries to stop her. She's understandably pissed.

And for those not clear, this is not a flashback, it's Kali's dream. She's remembering that incident, and since she's remembering it in English, she knows Onerios is in her dreams right then.

Trust me, this is hilarious in my head.
