Chibi Vinz and Gizmo

Roar Comics on Oct. 4, 2011

Vinzkhamen Rizzo-H'rbi is a native of the planet, Aarde.
(The same world Captain Ra-Zanatep is from.)
His
family has long been worshippers of the dark god, Thagsep, a
bloodthirsty, winged, lion-headed Aarden deity that values brute
strength and violence above all other things.
Vinzkhamen has always
been the black sheep of his clan, showing an interest in science,
strategy and sense from an early age. Those of his relatives that are
not dead or in prison, are some of the most brutal criminals on Aarde's
largest continent, Lycarro.
Vinz joined the a space-faring
salvage/recycling commune in order to leave the planet, and eventually
left them for a short stint with a colony of galactic merchants.
Over
the course of all his travels, “Vinz”, as he took to calling himself,
became disillusioned with the chaotic and rather low-brow state of the
galaxy, and it's tedious habit of placing him in roles where his
cerebral aptitude was ignored in favor of mindless grunt work. Sure, he
was raised and trained by a family of Thag (Worshippers of Thagsep), and
was thus strong and forceful when necessary, but had loftier goals than
simply lifting, carrying and guard duty.
When the Kraivex Armada
swept through the ‘bohemian sector’ of the Outer Rim of known space,
waging their war against the Militak occupation of Planet Impani (a
“strategic checkpoint” for the Militak, near SmevSpace), Vinz joined up,
hoping maybe that the maverick forces of the Kraivex would allow him to
do something different with his life. Unfortunately, it was guard duty,
yet again. At least his patrol area on the Dreadnaught Class warship,
Armagnarokalypse, was in the science and engineering section. One step
closer…
After serving on the ship for over 3 years, and forming a close friendship with fellow security force drone, Draxis Beethoven,
Vinz was more than ready for a little vacation. Letting Draxis talk him
(and about 17 others) into an impromptu ‘shore leave’ for a night of
fun in one of the scout ships, he and the rest, got extremely inebriated
and flew themselves into a space/time anomaly. In the blink of an eye,
Vinz, and company found themselves clear on the other side of the galaxy
and 7 years had passed.
The Kraivex lost the war, and now Vinz, Draxis and the rest were now the very last of their forces, and soon became fugitives.
Reassigning
rank and file among the 19 members of the crew of the Scoutship,
'Indomitable', Draxis became the new captain, and Vinz, his first
officer… and also, the ship's Science Officer. His dream come true,
Vinz is happier than ever before… despite the circumstances.
Some
time into his stint on the Indomitable, Vinz would salvage bits and
pieces of a few APEX class helper droids from the scoutship's storage
bay, and cobble them together into one functioning droid.
Tinkering
with it's A.I., Vinz repurposed the little droid into a lab assistant,
using a digiscan of his own younger brother, Patrokharis's brain
engrams. He named it “Gizmo”.
Though
he loves his cerebral pursuits, Vinz doesn't spend ALL his time in a
lab. Draxis is known as more of a “ladies man”, but Vinz is also fairly
adept at the more ‘romantic’ aspects of galactic diplomacy, and wastes
no time seeking (humanoid) female companionship after a long shift in
the lab or on the bridge. Gizmo also seems to share his creator's great
attraction to humanoid women, do to the womanizing ways of Vinz's
younger brother.
