Miss Mary is pretty, sweet and creative … but an academic, she is not. Mind, she really doesn't like school so she doesn't try too hard. That's why her mother is all yay! looking at paper! She actually wrote one!
For the curious, she writes: I really, really liked Jane Eyre. It was a lot better than the other stuff I've read in this class. You could even say I loved it. And I… blah blah.
This page felt like it took forever! Likely because I worked on it in little bits whenever I found the time. Sorry this one took about a day longer than I thought it would. But I'll have another one up tomorrow!!
I kinda hated Wuthering Heights when I read it a couple years ago, but I think that may have been because it gets described as this EPIC TALE of TRUE LOVE and blah blah, one of the great romances of our time, blah. I later found out that nobody was saying that about it until after they found out it was written by a woman, so yeah. I may give it another read and see how it goes without the incorrect preconceptions. (See, Heathcliff is sort of...a sociopath.)
Jane Eyre though, I really liked Jane Eyre. Was totally rooting for Jane and Mr. Rochester.
@madison_chance: I actually hadn't thought of that - maybe!! Her mother is pretty busy.
@avie: Thank you! :3
@Sei: Oh-ho! Yeah, I think it's safe to say Mary's mother is the MILFiest of the parents.
@shinuzero: Thanks!! I try to go as quickly as possible... without giving up too much quality, I hope.
@derkomai: Motherly is a good way of putting it. XD
@scribe_drizz: Mary's mother might be a little more... academic. XD
@reidavidson: I'm an English major. So I know what you mean!!
@emilyelizabeth: She's pretty cool!! Very relaxed and groovy. But very active and busy, so.
@skullbie: Thanks!! And thanks again for the header and the buttons. They make this place slick!
@peipei: Her dad isn't too ugly, either. ;D
@Satoshi: Whoa! Really? Interesting mom you got.
@riggseryan: Mary doesn't see her mother a WHOLE lot, but not because her mother is a bitch or anything, just very independent...?
@hyena_hell: Thank you! Although that reflection was kinda a "oh yeah, guess I have to do that" rushed kinda thing. XD
@Amanda: I've only read that far, I think. Ha, me.
@ulrika: She does! She's very busy. Her husband leads the crazy life, too, but it's his turn to veg out on the couch tonight.
@pinkbatmax: mmmmm
@assortedcandies: Thanks so much! And she tries.
@kmajor: I actually haven;t read wuthering heights, but I know THAT would be a strange essay.
@harryq, @llawliet, @toughy, @undeadromancing: Thanks for the 5s!
Her mom looks like she doesn't give her the time of day most of the time. So just a little bit of attention is what she seems to be wanting. Either that or she wants to freak her mom out! Either way it should be funny!
Well, uh, so long as it's not a formal essay, right? : D
Is it bad that I didn't even notice her bust until after I read Sei's comment?
Haha, well, I guess they ARE fairly motherly figures, the two of them :P
Wait, another one tomorrow? You crazy! (AKA: You go girl!)
Your artwork is just so gorgeous. It seems that Mary cares more about having a real moment with her mom than getting any actual feedback on her essay. Awesome!

Haha. I think that would've been my reaction to the essay too. At least it's not "The Power of Love in Wuthering Heights."

Ugh, I'm not a fan of Jane Eyre - except page five when she gets smacked with a book. Does this make me a bad person? Probably.

Another great page! I love Mary's reflection in the mirror in panel 4. And I like the mom. She's... uh, yeah. I like her. >:D
